Phuket Sea Shell Museums

There are numerous museums in Phuket specializing on the culture of this popular Thai island. One of the popular museums in Phuket is the Phuket Sea Shell Museums. This museum is located near Rawai Beach on Viset Road.
This Phuket museum displays over 2,000 species of shells. It also has the only left-handed Noble Volute. You can also get to see 380 million-year-old fossils and giant clams. Don't forget to see one of the rarest golden pearls at Phuket Sea Shell Museums.
The collection was formed by the Patamakanthin brothers. Their 40 years search for the most exquisite and unique seashells have produced this rich collection. Most of the shells are from Phuket and around Thailand. Shells from other parts of the world are also displayed.
The specimens at the sea shell museum in Phuket are selected for its quality and condition. There are also rare items like an oyster of 140 karats (the world's largest golden pearl). The museum also has a 250 kilograms shell and sedimentary rock with shell fossils. The displays are in a logical order. Phuket Sea Shell Museums is open from 8 a.m. to 18.30 p.m. daily. The admission fee is 200 Baht.
