There are many ways of getting to Patong Beach from Bangkok.

You can travel by air or land depending on your preferences and budget.

Traveling by air is the most convenient way to go to Patong as traveling by land may take long hours or even a day before reaching the final destination. Daily flights from Bangkok to Phuket and vice versa are available via

- Phuket Airlines
- Thai Airways International
- Bangkok Airways
- Air Asia
- Malaysia Airlines
- Singapore Airlines

These airlines provide several flights everyday. Upon arriving in Phuket International Airport, you can take a taxi or a minibus going to Patong, or you can ask the hotel you will be staying with to arrange for transportation. Normally, hotels in Patong have transportations available to pick up their guests from the airport. Traveling by air may be the most comfortable way but is also the most expensive means to go to Patong, Phuket. Visitors to Patong from overseas can book cheap flights to Thailand arriving at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport and then transit onto Phuket using the airline above.

By Car
If your preference is to drive your own car or a rented car, you need to drive a distance of 867 kilometers and traveling time may take at least 12 hours. Finding a car rental company in Bangkok is easy and it can as well offer a chauffeur if required and covers full insurance of the car. Taking Route 4 in Bangkok is the path that will lead you to Patong.

After Bangkok, you need to drive through Nakhon Pathom, Prachuap Khiri Khan, Chumphon, Kra Buri and Kraper (districts from Ranong province) then Takua Pa and Takua Thung (districts from Phang Nga Province). Finally, you will cross Sarasin Bridge or Thao Thep Kasattri and from there you will only be 9 kilometers away from Patong. You have to take Route 4027 going to Heroines Monument and continue to Route 4022. In due course, you will find your way to Patong district.

By Bus

Bangkok to Phuket Bus

Another option is to travel by train until Surat Thani and from there you need to take a standard bus going to Phuket. Travelers must get off to Phun Phin Railway Station in Surat Thani.
